Elliot Noble
Hi I'm Elliot and I'm a 4th year geologist originally from Aberdeen. I'd love to help with any issues you may have in or out of the classroom. Away from mapping in the field or looking through microscopes in the lab I really enjoy playing guitar and can often be found out for a run around the Meadows. Enjoy your first year!

Elizabeth Balmer
Hi, I’m Elizabeth and I’m a 4th year Geologist from a small town on the West coast of Scotland called Largs. Outside of Geology life I spend much of my time in the outdoors canoeing down Scottish rivers or hill walking over the mountains. If you need any help or have any questions – please ask! The chances are I probably had the same question when I was in 1st year. I hope you have an awesome 1st year!
Eilidh Stott
Hi, I’m Eilidh and I'm a 3rd year studying Geology and Physical Geography. I enjoy spending my free time at the university gym and exploring the beautiful city of Edinburgh. I love animals and have a hamster named Phlogopite (a mineral you're sure to learn about in the next 4 years of your degree!). As your PALS leader I'd like to help you with any questions or problems you might have about university and your course. I'd also like to share my experiences with you and give you tips on what to expect from your degree programme.

Hello, I’m Parissa and I’m in my 3rd year studying Geology. I hope that I will be able to discuss and help you with any certain parts of the course that you may find tricky or give advice and tips about your time at university. I’d also encourage you to check out our Geological Society where you’ll be able to meet many more Geoscientists from all year groups and get even more involved with the department! I’m looking forward to meeting you and hope you have an amazing 1st year!

Hi I’m Alex, a fourth year Geologist from Aberdeenshire. Having grown up walking and climbing in the Cairngorm mountains, geology has always been of great interest to me. Bria Steven
Hi there, I'm Bria. I'm a fourth year Environmental Geoscience student. The best thing about the Geoscience department is how broad it is, there are so many subjects from Hydrology to Volcanology, there is something for everyone! I'm really excited to get involved with GeoPALs as I had so many questions in first year that I was too scared to as my friends or teachers about - other students are definitely the best people to ask. In my spare time I play rugby and love to snowboard in winter. Hope everyone has a great start to first year!

Viola Heinrich
Hi, I'm Viola and originally from Germany. I'm in 3rd year doing Geography and Environmental Studies. I have a particular interest in climate change and climate science but like most Geographers every element of the World fascinates me. When I'm not in Drummond Street, you might see me on my bike exploring Edinburgh. I went to PALs in 1st year and it really helped me to settle in and meet new people as well as ask questions to someone who has been through the same thing as you, be it essay writing or a more specific thing. See you soon!
